We are excited to present our second Seasonal Winemakers Dinner; when award-winning Executive Chef, Mathew Macartney (former Executive Chef of Chateau Yering and The Lake House, Daylesford) will create delicious Italian fare, sourced from the best local and sustainable producers, for you to devour with paired Pizzini Wines.
Pizzini is a family-owned winery located in the King Valley wine region in Victoria’s north east. Pizzini specialise in the production of Italian wine varieties.
Over the past twenty-five years the family have been growing and making wine from grape varieties including Prosecco, Pinot Grigio, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Brachetto, Verduzzo and Arneis.
King Valley is the perfect region for growing Italian varieties. The shallow, rocky soils on the gently undulating slopes make perfect sites for Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Pinot Grigio. While the more fertile zones along the King Valley floor leading to the King River grow fragrant Brachetto and crisp Prosecco.
Pizzini’s cellar door is open seven days. The family also run a cooking school, B&B and a small country hotel in Whitfield called the Mountain View.
